Het is weer een tijdje geleden, maar we gaan toch verder! Eerst maar de winter jurkjes:

Door een stomme knipfout had ik niet genoeg stof om de ruit op het achterpand perfect te laten doorlopen. Dit jurkje heeft ze dan ook alleen thuis aan gehad, je kan een kind tenslotte niet met een niet-doorlopende print de straat op sturen, nietwaar?

I made a stupid cutting mistake which left me with not enough fabric to have the print continue on the back. So she has only be wearing this dress at home, you can not send out a kid in public with a non-continuing print, can you?

Christmas dress

This year's Christmas dress has been the same as last year's, and the year's before: Oottobre's "Autumn Roses". This time with a sash and flower:

Winter dress

It is getting cold. For real.  How about a dress out of a sweater knit?

The fabric comes from a market in The Netherlands, hard to work with because the knit is a bit loose, so the fabric ladders easily. But the drape is beautiful and I am happy with the result.
From the left overs I made a hat and neck sock:

And because they are so easy to make, I made another set with fabric from the left over bin:

Zomerspul

Er zijn mensen die vooruitzien als deugd hebben. Helaas behoor ik niet tot die groep, ik ga pas een badpak kopen als ik ook daadwerkelijk naar het buitenbad ga, niet in Februari. Zo ook met naaien: ik naai pas zomerspul als het ook warm genoeg is. Bovendien weet je met kleine kids niet of ze niet plotseling een groeispurt doormaken. Heb je ruim op tijd zomerjurkjes gemaakt, passen ze niet meer als het warm is, balen. Maar zoiets gebeurd mij dus niet. De keerzijde is dat ik flink tempo moet maken om de kinderen iets draagbaars te kunnen leveren. Anyway, hier komt een greep:

Een gesmockt jumpsuit

Ik moet de bandjes nog wat inkorten en een labeltje innaaien, want papa weet niet wat voor of achter is.

De naaimachinewinkel heeft tegenwoordig ook een kleine collectie quilt stoffen (Moda) en wat doe je als je even op je machine moet wachten? Juist, een stofje kopen, en dan snel een tuniekje naaien.

Ik vind dit stofje zó leuk, ik kon het niet laten en heb nog een jurkje gemaakt.

Spoonflower heeft eens per jaar een actie waarbij je geen verzendkosten hoeft te betalen. Toen heb ik een paar Fat Quarters gekocht, dit is organic interlock en héél zacht. De vlindertjes zijn van opstrijkbaar glitterfolie. Het ziet er erg leuk uit, ik ben benieuwd hoe het zich houdt in de was.

Bubbles

When I went to the local fabric store to buy buttons for the Apple shirt, this bubbly fabric was smiling at us. I made a quick, cute and easy smock dress with it. Bloomers out of coordinating cotton sateen, unfortunately way to large but who cares...

Christmas dresses

A bit late, but I did make so called special occasion dresses for the Holidays. The winter Ottobre had a classic pattern that included tule, perfect! In my local fabric store I bought a beautiful cotton velour in 2 colors in order to make different versions of the dress. Here is the result:

The pattern is called "Autumn Roses", I like it a lot. It is easy to sew together, can be glammed up if necessary, I already have a summer version in mind.

Dress

 

 I don't really see the point of a dress for a baby, especially during winter, but I made one anyway.

Another Ottobre pattern. It looked quite big, but once on the baby it is OK. The cuffs would have been better in apple green but purple was what I had on hand. Because of the length it will fit a long time as it is large enough, and when the arms are too short I cut off the cuffs and it will be a short sleeve tunic. Now that I think of it, it is a very economical pattern.
