Dulce de Leche Ice Cream

According to Thomas, this ice cream is better than chocolate. Fortunately, it is really easy to make.
Start with a can of sweetened condensed milk and boil it in water for about 3 hours. The can should be immersed in water all the time, so maybe you have to add some from time to time, let it simmer at low to medium heat.
Your dulce de leche is now ready and should look like this:

It's not liquid anymore, but transformed itself into a creamy paste.

You can put it in a container and it will be good for at least a week in the refrigerator. That means you can do this ahead of time.
Then the rest of the ingredients:
Heat 250 ml of the milk and the cream until boiling point. Let cool a bit and mix it with the dulce de leche. Start with adding a little bit of the milk and mix until smooth, then add the rest.

Let cool completely. I usually put in in the fridge overnight.
Still no ice cream, though.

Get out your ice cream maker and let it work for about 20 minutes. After that I like to transfer the ice cream to a container and let it set in the freezer.

Enjoy!
